In honor of our episodes with the OR Foundation, we wanted to do something special…so we revised some vintage clothing ads to reflect the true nature of fast fashion. Imagine if these ads were real!

#1: Fast fashion: Making our overconsumption someone else’s problem since 2008. That’s what this episode is all about! I chose 2008 as the year as this is widely considered the year that big brands began to adopt the model of fast fashion.

#2: Fast Fashion: Don’t get attached…60% of this will be in a landfill within a year. Yes, that’s a real fact from a McKinsey study. That’s about 90 billion garments each year being made and tossed with minimal use. NOTHING IS DISPOSABLE!

#3: Fast fashion: It’s cheap because someone didn’t get paid. <—a Clotheshorse classic right there!
